The Pefki Gorge

THINGS TO DO
A great option for those new to gorge walking.

Time: 3 hours round trip (including walk up to Ag. Stefanos)

Difficulty:  Fairly easy.

Enjoy a full day in this picturesque area taking in the easy walk of The Pefki Gorge which is an ideal first taste of gorge walking.  From Lagada Resort drive up towards Ag. Stefanos village which will take about one and a half hours. The road is fairly quiet and you can take a few breaks and a detour to the small tavern at Ag. Stefanos for refreshments with a stunning view!

From Ag. Stefanos, follow the road on to Pefki and you will see the Gorge sign on the right just before the village. The Gorge itself is well signposted and has areas of secure paths and there are benches for you to take a rest on your way. The pretty road down to Makry Gialos and Lagada Resort takes around two hours to walk, passing through aromatic pine, thyme, sage and olive groves. Be sure you visit the amazing Vreiki cave which is located near Pefki village on your route.

Joanna Lumley previewed the E4 walk which passes Pefki in Episode 4 of Joanna Lumley’s postcards, screened on ITV in May 2017.
