Plaka Walking

Difficulty:  Easy.

Just north of Ag Nikolaos and  75 minutes drive from Lagada Resort, the village of Plaka is located in the stunning setting of the Mirabello bay, right opposite the island of Kalidon (Spinalonga).  If you fancy a walk on your way home from visiting this area you can drive up the coast road from Plaka to the top of the hill by driving almost into Vrouhas and parking by the windmills.

Take the track along the cliff and you will approach a church on the left where you will find a fairly overgrown footpath bearing right with paint splodge way markers.  Follow this path around the cliff, enjoying fabulous views as you go, until you reach the road below.  Follow this road around the headland and back past a wind farm.  You can make a short detour on your way to the small chapel perched on the headland.
